Bernie's took over the former Osten Beerhall in East Hamilton's Ottawa Street area in 2022, kept the beer-hall bones — kitchen, bar, and patio — and pointed the menu squarely at burgers, wings, pizza, and sandwiches.

The food rewards a table that orders with some intent. Wings are the clearest first move, with Buffalo, BBQ, a dill dry rub, Weck Style, and All Dressed on offer, arriving with veggie sticks and blue cheese rather than as a bare basket. The most distinctive order is the Spaghetti Fingers — breaded and fried spaghetti bound with sauce and cheese, cut into sticks and sent out with marinara, the kind of shareable plate that lands before anyone has committed to a main.
